The Live Whiteboard tool is now enhanced to increase student engagement and interaction in class. Teachers can monitor students' annotations in real time and pull up their activity on a Live Whiteboard to enhance their teaching.

Note: This feature will be available to students only during instructor-paced live sessions. To learn about live instructor-paced sessions and more, read this article: Session Modes for Live Sessions

To use the Live Whiteboard as a student, follow these steps:

  1. Wait for your teacher to enable the Live Whiteboard and start annotating their screen
  2. Once they toggle on the 'Allow participants to draw' option on their end, you can annotate on your device
  3. Record your answers and display your engagement so your teacher knows you are engaged in their class
  4. You have access to a pen, a highlighter, a color wheel, an eraser, and a clear canvas tool
    • You can undo, redo, and delete your annotations
  5. Your teacher can see all your annotation activity on their screen in real time
  6. You can annotate on your screen until your teacher disables the Live Whiteboard

Note:
Students cannot turn on the Live Whiteboard option on their own in an instructor-paced activity. However, if they are hosting an instructor-paced activity on their own with your friends, you can enable the Live Whiteboard for themselves and their peers.
