    • Increase the speed of the video (1.5x or 2x)
    • Enable captions for the video (only supported with YouTube videos with captions)
  5. Once you have customized settings for the session, click on 'Start'
  6. To join a session, students
    • can click on quizizz.com/join/ and enter the code you have shared, along with their names
    • can use the join code you share via an LMS (Learning Management System) like Google Classroom, Canvas, Schoology, etc.
    • can scan the QR code shared by you from their devices
    • can join via the link shared by you
  7. Once all your students arrive at the session lobby,
    • Click on 'Start' to start the Interactive Video session, or
    • You can choose to auto-start your session, and it will start automatically as per the timer set by you

If a student cannot join due to technical difficulties, they can access the live session whenever they can until the code is still active. Students cannot join a live session once it has ended.

Assign an Interactive Video as homework

Once you have selected the desired Interactive you want to assign to your students as homework,

  1. Click on the Interactive Video that you want to assign as homework
  2. Click on the 'Assign' button
  3. Now, customize the session settings

  4. You can also customize video settings. Here, you can:
    • Prevent students from skipping any parts of a video
    • Increase the speed of the video (1.5x or 2x)
    • Enable captions for the video (only supported with YouTube videos with captions)
  5. Once you are done customizing all your desired session settings, click on the 'Assign' button

Now, you can share the Interactive Video link or the join code with your students, and they can participate in the session as homework!

Once your students have completed the Interactive Video, you can use the 'Share report' option to share reports with either parent/guardian or other teachers.

Student experience

When students participate in an Interactive Video Question session, they'll experience a split-screen interface: the video plays on the left, and questions are listed on the right.

As the video reaches designated timestamps, it will automatically pause, prompting students to answer the displayed question.

If you have added notes to the interactive video, and when students reach a timestamp with a note:

  • The video pauses, and the note quickly pops up on the screen just above the timeline area
  • They can click on ‘Got It’ to close the note after viewing it, and the video automatically will continue to play after that
  • They can click on the hide icon () to make the pop-up note transparent. This way, they can still see the video content and any captions without obstruction
  • Additionally, they can hover over the yellow circle to view the note again if needed

Note:

  1. If the 'Prevent seeking' setting is enabled, students will need to sequentially watch the video, answer questions, and view notes. They will not be allowed to skip ahead to future questions and notes.
  2. The video can be rewound or paused, which would allow students to review any segments they need to revisit.
  3. A 'Show more' button provides a complete list of questions and notes
  4. Video playback controls enable students to adjust the volume and playback speed to suit their preferences.

Reports & data

  • Within a report, you can see responses for each question separately. Click on the 'Questions' tab or the 'Overview' tab to see how students have responded to each question

  • If you have assigned any Accommodations to your students, you can view the results for each Accommodation profile. Click on the Accommodations tab and view the accuracy percentage and completion rate per each Accommodation profile
  • Additionally, you can make this report standards-aligned even after students have completed the Passage. Simply go to the Standards tab of the report to get started. Learn more here: Create Standards-Aligned Reports
  • You can also monitor how much time your students spend on each video and determine where their attention wanes. Click on 'See video insights' to view the completion rates, which indicate how much of the video students have finished, and segment rewatches, which show which sections have been rewatched. These metrics can help identify areas where students may need additional support.

Note:

  • Only one video per set of questions is supported
  • Acceptable video formats include .mp4, .ogg, and .webm.
  • Power-Ups apply to only one question per video, which adds an extra layer of engagement
