Integrate Quizizz with Moodle via LTI as an Administrator

With Quizizz integrated into Moodle through LTI, students can engage with Quizizz resources directly within Moodle, reducing distractions from switching platforms. Teachers can easily assign resources and track progress — all without leaving the Moodle platform.

In this guide, you'll learn how to embed Quizizz in Moodle as an Administrator and make learning more efficient for your school or district!

Note: This feature is available for users with Quizizz Schools & Districts Plans.

To embed Quizizz LTI with Moodle, contact your Customer Success Manager, who will provide the required credentials. Follow these steps to complete the integration: 

  1. Log in to your Moodle account
  2. Go to your 'Site Administration' page
  3. Click on 'Plugins'
  4. Scroll down to the 'External Tools' section, and click on 'Manage Tools'



  5. Click on 'Configure a tool manually'
  6. In the Tool settings section, enter or select information in the required fields as shown below:



    1. Tool Name: Enter the name of the tool (e.g., Quizizz)
    2. Tool URL: Enter the tool URL provided by your Customer Success Manager
    3. LTI Version: Select 'LTI 1.3' from the given options
    4. Public Key Type: Select 'Keyset URL'
    5. Public Keyset: Enter the credentials provided by your Customer Success Manager
    6. Initiate Login URL: Enter the credentials provided by your Customer Success Manager
    7. Redirection URI(s): Enter the credentials provided by your Customer Success Manager
    8. Custom Parameters: Enter the credentials provided by your Customer Success Manager
    9. Tool Configuration Usage: Select 'Show in activity chooser and as a preconfigured tool' from the given options
    10. Default Launch Container: Select 'New window' from the given options
    11. Check () the 'Supports Deep Linking (Content-Item Message)' option
  7. Now, scroll down to click on 'Services', and enter or select information in the required fields as shown below:



    1. IMS LTI Assignment and Grade Services: Select 'Use this service for grade-sync only' or 'Use this service for grade-sync or column management', depending on your requirements
    2. IMS LTI Names and Role Provisioning: Select the option 'Use this service to retrieve members' information as per privacy settings'
    3. Tool Settings: Select the 'Use this service' option
  8. Scroll down to click on 'Privacy', and enter or select information in the required fields as shown below:



    1. Share launcher's name with tool: Select 'Always'
    2. Accept grades from the tool: Select 'Always' or 'As specified in Deep Linking definition or Delegate to teacher', depending on your requirements
  9. Once you've entered/selected the required credentials as mentioned above, click on the 'Save Changes' button

The Quizizz LTI tool will now be successfully embedded in your Moodle account! To verify this:

  1. Go to your 'Site Administration' page
  2. Click on 'Plugins'
  3. Scroll down to the 'External Tools' section, and click on 'Manage Tools'



  4. Scroll down to the 'Tools' section, and you'll find the 'Quizizz' tool among the list of LTI tools embedded with Moodle

For teachers to be able to assign activities to a Moodle course, they/you need to ensure that the Quizizz LTI tool is enabled for that course. To do this:

  1. Go to the 'My courses' page on Moodle
  2. Select the required course
  3. Once the course page opens, click on 'More' and select 'LTI External Tools' from the drop-down menu



  4. Now, you should see 'Quizizz' as an LTI external tool. Make sure that the 'Show in activity chooser' option is toggled on ()

Important Note

Only teachers rostered on Quizizz as part of your Quizizz Schools & District plans can use the Quizizz–Moodle LTI integration. Teachers not rostered and attempting to link a Quizizz resource to a Moodle course will receive a message prompting them to get rostered on their Quizizz plan to access the Moodle integration.
