Due to YouTube’s updated privacy and compliance guidelines, generating content with AI directly from YouTube videos is no longer allowed and, hence, is not supported on Quizizz. This change helps ensure a safer environment for both teachers and students. If YouTube changes its policies and we find a secure way of doing this, we’ll make sure to have it back on the platform as soon as possible!
But don’t worry — there are still great ways to keep your Assessments/Quizzes engaging and your videos distraction-free!

Workarounds for creating video-enhanced Assessments/Quizzes

While direct content generation from YouTube videos is no longer available, you can still incorporate videos in your Assessments/Quizzes in these ways:

Option 1: Use video transcripts to generate questions

If you have the transcript of a video, you can use it to generate questions. You can:

  • Enter the transcript or key points into the AI Text/Prompt box
  • Quizizz AI will generate relevant questions for you, allowing you to build an Assessment/Quiz around the content

Option 2: Explore pre-created Interactive Videos

Looking for Interactive Video content? The Quizizz Library offers thousands of ready-to-use, teacher-created Interactive Videos. You can:

  • Browse or search for a relevant video
  • Use it directly with your students to keep them engaged

Option 3: Upload your own videos

If you own a video and want to create an Assessment/Quiz from it, you can:

  • Upload your video from your device, Google Drive, etc.
  • Use Quizizz AI to automatically generate questions based on the video content

What’s next?

Although generating questions from YouTube videos is no longer supported, we’re continuing to enhance our platform to provide you with the best teaching tools. You can still create engaging Assessments/Quizzes, explore interactive content in the Quizizz Library, and even access ad-free videos with YouTube Player for Education if you're on the Quizizz Schools or Districts plan.
