You’ve always used Quizizz for summative assessments, engaging knowledge checks, and independent learning. However, you can also teach and facilitate classes on Quizizz using Lessons. Lessons offer two main settings, much like an Assessment/Quiz: Live (or instructor-led) and Homework (asynchronous learning).
Host a Lesson Live
Instructor-led sessions allow you to control the pace of your Lesson. You can decide whether or not to mirror the content displayed on the presenter’s device onto student devices. This setting also ensures that all slides and questions appear on student devices at the same time. You can also control whether to pause, move between slides, or stay on the same slide.
To start a live session, click on the 'Play live' button.
How students can join a live Lesson
Once you start a Live Lesson, students can join using their apps or on joinmyquiz.com and enter the code you share.

During your live lessons, you can access various interactive tools to enhance student engagement. Below is a detailed description of each tool and how to use it effectively.

Students are required to answer the question before the timer expires. You can also pause, stop, or add extra seconds to the timer from the bottom right of your screen.

In this mode, students are able to progress through the lesson at their own pace. You can monitor their progress data in real-time on your screen as they answer the questions. You can also view the accuracy and completion rates for each question, and even pause student gameplay to discuss a question, which also enables the annotation option for you, and the students will be prompted to look at your screen instantly.
The student-paced mode will deactivate automatically based on the selected slide number. However, you can manually deactivate it by clicking on the button from the bottom right corner of your screen.
Gather insights and live data while hosting a Lesson
During your lesson, you can monitor real-time data and insights on student responses and behavior for each question. Go to the responses tab to view accuracy rates and other details for each question. You'll be able to see how many students answered correctly and how many did not, the percentage of correct/incorrect answers, etc., based on the question type.
Using this data, you can choose to pause the gameplay and discuss the question with your class immediately.
When you choose to discuss a question, the 'Eyes up front' and 'Annotate' features will turn on automatically. These will prompt your students to look at your screen and allow you to annotate your screen.
Assign a Lesson asynchronously (as homework)
Students can also use Lessons asynchronously when assigned as homework. They will go through the Lesson on their own time, work through materials, and answer questions to test their knowledge.
To assign a Lesson as homework, click on the 'Assign' button.
Questions in a Lesson
Questions can be added to your Lesson for a knowledge check. They work great live and in an Asynchronous way (as homework).
