Create Interactive Slides with Quizizz Add-on for Google Slides

Develop your presentations with interactive learning Quizizz now has a new Lessons extension for Google Slides! In this guide, we'll walk you through the simple steps to install and utilize the Quizizz for Google Slides add-on, which can be seamlessly integrated into your Google Slides presentations. From adding interactive questions to importing questions from the Quizizz Library and even harnessing Quizizz AI for question generation, this add-on will transform your presentations into engaging educational experiences.

How to get it

You can install the Quizizz for Google Slides add-on directly from this link. Alternatively, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open any Google Slide you already have
  2. Click on 'Extensions'
  3. Hover over 'Add-ons' and select 'Get Add-ons'
  4. Search for 'Quizizz for Google Slides' on the search bar
  5. Select the Quizizz for Google Slides add-on and hit 'Install'

As a teacher, if the 'Install' option is blocked for you on this page, please contact your IT Administrator to allow installation.

How to use it

  1. Click on 'Extension' to find the Quizizz for Google Slides add-on
  2. Click on the 'Quizizz for Google Slides' add-on, and this will open a side panel to access the features

Once installed, you can use the Quizizz for Google Slides add-on to:

  1. Add interactive questions
    • Create and add your own questions from a variety of different interactive Question Types
    • Import questions to your slides from the vast Quizizz Library of teacher-created questions
    • Use Quizizz AI to generate questions directly
  2. Host your Google Slides as an interactive Lesson on Quizizz
To use this add-on easily, ensure your browser's 'Allow third-party cookies' setting is enabled.

Add interactive questions

Creating and adding your own questions

  1. Select the Slide after which you want the question slide to appear
  2. From the Quizizz panel on the right-hand side, choose the desired Question Type from the list of options available
  3. Create the question and answer. You can also choose to:
    • Add an answer explanation for your students to view after attempting the question
    • Set the number of points (ungraded questions will carry 0 points)
    • Set the time allotted for the question
    • Tag standards
  4. Click on 'Save question' from the top-right corner
  5. Repeat the same process to add more questions

Importing questions from the Quizizz Library

  1. Select the Slide after which you want the question slide to appear
  2. From the Quizizz panel on the right-hand side, click on the search bar and type the topic or subject name for the available quizzes
  3. Filter search results by grade, subject, and language
  4. Click on a quiz to preview its questions
  5. Click on 'Add question' to import questions one by one
    • A new slide will automatically be created with the imported question

  6. Repeat the same process to add more questions

Using Quizizz AI to generate questions

Quizizz AI allows you to generate quiz questions from a single slide or the entire presentation. You'll need to log in to Quizizz to access this feature. Simply select the account you currently use on Quizizz to proceed.  

  1. From the Quizizz panel on the right-hand side, click on '✨Create from current slide' or '✨Create from entire Presentation' placed under the 'Add with Quizizz AI' banner
    • If you want to generate questions from a specific slide, ensure that you select that slide before clicking on the '✨Create from current slide' button
    • When selecting the '✨ Create from entire Presentation' option, the generated question slides will be placed after all existing slides. You can rearrange them later as you desire.
  2. Wait for Quizizz AI to generate questions for you
  3. Once the questions are generated, click on the 'View Questions' button
    • You will now be able to view all the questions that have been generated. You can scroll through them and decide which questions you want to keep and which you want to delete. At this stage, you can even make edits to the generated questions
  4. Once you have made your changes, click on 'Save Questions' to add the generated questions to the Presentation

Edit questions

You can also edit every question using the Quizizz for Google Slides add-on.

  1. Go to the question slide you want to edit
  2. Click on the 'Edit Question' button from the Quizizz panel on the right-hand side
  3. You can choose to:
    1. Format the style of the question
    2. Edit the options
    3. Add math equations, images, videos, audio, etc. to questions and options
    4. Add an answer explanation for your students to view after attempting the question
    5. Set the number of points (ungraded questions will carry 0 points)
    6. Set the time allotted for the question
    7. Tag standards
  4. Click on 'Save question' on the top-right corner

Host your Google Slides as a Lesson on Quizizz

Once you're done adding your questions to your Google Slides, you can then host it as an interactive Lesson on Quizizz! You can either play it directly as a teacher-paced lesson on Quizizz by clicking on 'Play this lesson' or select 'Open in Quizizz for more options' to host it in other ways.

In both cases, Quizizz imports your slides as a Lesson on Quizizz, and it gets saved in your Library so you can host it as you'd like!


 

Note: The Quizizz for Google Slides add-on works best with Presentations with text-based content that is not image-heavy
