LMS Integration and Staff Roster Management for Administrators

Integrating Quizizz with your preferred LMS has never been easier! As an administrator on a Quizizz School or District Plan, you can now initiate and manage your LMS integrations straight from your Quizizz dashboards. 

Integrating with an LMS enables your teachers to quickly and easily import classes, assign Quizizz activities, and sync grades. Additionally, it helps you manage your teacher and staff rosters with ease.

Our new and improved integration experience enables you to:

  1. Initiate a connection with your preferred LMS, including Google Classroom, Canvas, and Schoology
  2. Initiate rostering of teachers and staff by uploading a file, connecting with Clever, or via your LMS 
  3. Monitor the health of your connections through timely, automated statuses that indicate success, failure, date of last sync, and more! 

In this article, we will explore how you can initiate a connection with an LMS of your choice. We’ll also look at how you can roster your teachers and staff via these connections. 

Additionally, we’ll closely examine the different health statuses you may encounter, enabling you to monitor and manage your connections.

Part 1: Integrate with an LMS

The first step to integrating with an LMS is to initiate a connection with it. As an administrator on a school or district Quizizz plan, here is how you can do this.

  1. Log into your Quizizz account 
  2. Click on the ‘LMS Integrations’ tab on the left navigation pane
  3. Click to connect with your preferred LMS (Google Classroom, Canvas, Schoology). Here, you may be asked to authenticate using the credentials associated with your LMS account 

The connection has now been initiated and will be completed shortly. You can always return to the LMS Integrations tab to monitor the health of your connection.

Here are some of the health statuses you may see

  1. Click to connect: This status shows that you haven’t yet connected with a particular LMS. Click on the LMS to enable a connection. 
  2. Connected: This status indicates that the LMS integration is successfully connected. Clicking on an LMS with this status will initiate the connection process again. 
  3. Connection failed, view error: This status shows that a connection was attempted but was not successful. Hovering over this status will show you an error message so you can understand why the connection has failed. 

Part 2: Rostering

Quizizz now offers rostering via Clever and ClassLink for School and district partners. If you want access to this feature, please complete this form.


If you are an administrator on a Quizizz District plan, you can roster your staff and teachers via your preferred LMS. You have the option to roster by:

  1. Uploading a file 
  2. Connecting with Clever (currently available in beta) 
  3. Connecting with Google Classroom 
  4. Connecting with Canvas
  5. Connecting with Schoology 

Note: Ensure you have followed the steps listed in Part 1 to connect with your LMS before initiating rostering.

Here are the steps you can follow to rostering your staff via your preferred LMS:

  1. Click on 'Manage Members' from the left navigation pane

  2. Choose the 'Roster Members' option



  3. Click on 'Sync Rosters' next to your preferred option (Google Classroom, Canvas, Schoology, Clever, or file upload)

Rostering has now been initiated and will be completed shortly. You can always return to this page to monitor the health of your roster sync. 

Here are some of the health statuses you may see

  1. Last synced: This status will indicate the last time a roster sync was completed. Note that this status will only be displayed if 
    1. you have initiated rostering via that particular connection, and  
    2. the integration is connected successfully (by following the steps in Part 1)
  2. Sync in progress: This status indicates that a roster sync is currently in progress. When the sync is complete, this status will automatically update to ‘Last synced on’, and you will also be notified via email. 
  3. Sync failed, view error: This status indicates that a roster sync was attempted but failed. Hovering on this status lets you view an error message to understand why the attempt was unsuccessful. 
  4. Partially synced, view error: This status indicates that a roster sync was attempted but was only partially successful. Hovering on this status lets you view an error message to understand why the attempt was unsuccessful.
