How to create a quiz using the editor?

Quiz editor allows you to include the following question types -

  1. Multiple choice questions.
  2. Fill-in-the-Blank questions.
  3. Polls (no correct answer).
  4. Open-Ended questions (not graded).
  5. Multiple correct answers (Checkbox).

Following are the steps to create a quiz using the new quiz editor:

  1. Once you are logged in to your Quizizz account, click the purple Create button from the left navigation bar. Select Quiz from the given options to open the quiz editor.

  2. Now, enter a name and choose a relevant subject for the quiz. Click the 'Next' button to continue. (Don't worry about being perfect with the name or tags as you can always come back and edit these later)

  3. There are five different question types to choose from to make a question.

    • Multiple choice: Questions with two or more (up to five) answer options; only one option is the correct answer. A student can only select one answer option when playing the quiz.

    • Checkbox: Questions with multiple correct answers. A student must select all the possible answers to get the question right when playing the quiz. No points are awarded for a question if a student gets it partially correct.

    • Fill in the Blanks: Students need to enter the answer in the space provided manually. The character limit for a fill-in-the-blanks question is 160.

    • Open-ended: These are long answer questions. The character limit for open-ended is 1000. A message shows up when the answer >800 characters. 

      Note: Open-ended questions are not graded.​

    • Poll: These are no correct answer questions. You can choose whether to allow students to select only one or multiple options.

  4. You can add an image(Screenshot_2021-06-06_at_8.47.46_AM.png), mathematical equations(Screenshot_2021-06-06_at_8.47.14_AM.png), audio(Screenshot_2021-06-06_at_8.48.01_AM.png) or video(Screenshot_2021-06-06_at_8.48.11_AM.png) to your questions.

  5. You can set the time from the drop-down for a question, as shown below.

  6. Answer explanations allow the teachers to provide explanations about the answer to the question. You can also add an image, video, mathematical equations or audio.

  7. You can also import questions from other quizzes using our 'Teleport' feature. Click the search bar under the Teleport questions section to open the Teleport search from the quiz editor. The teleport search will automatically look for the quizzes with the quiz title as the keyword. You can look for questions from the initial search result or search for new quizzes by changing the search keyword.
